Edincell seeks to create innovative strategies to bring scientific research to the public. Our aim is to use these strategies to help reduce the attainment gap in education and promote higher participation of women in STEM subjects.
Most of our activities are aimed at improving the Science Capital of Primary school children. We do this through the design and delivery of workshops for schools, community groups and science clubs; we also offer CPD for Primary and Secondary science teachers.
Through our activities we would like to encourage children’s natural curiosity. Using art and play we introduce the children to follow the scientific method. These activities promote critical thinking and develop problem-solving, analytical and reasoning skills.
